Schools & Nurseries

I’m a photographer who loves capturing children in a natural, relaxed way. I’ve always treasured my own kids’ school photos but wished they felt less staged—so I set out to offer exactly that to schools and nurseries.

No stiff backdrops, just playgrounds and fields, creating fun, natural portraits that truly reflect each child. With years of experience as a family photographer, I know how to bring out genuine smiles and help kids feel at ease in no time!

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do you ensure data protection?
I use specialist software to keep images and data safe.
  • Are you DBS-checked?
    Yes!
  • What happens if it rains?
We always schedule a backup date in case of bad weather.
  • Are you insured?
Yes, I have professional indemnity and public liability insurance.
  • Can you take sibling portraits?
Absolutely! I offer individual, sibling, and leaver (Year 6 & Year 8) portraits.
  • How many images are available per child?
Parents can choose from around five images per child.
  • Do parents have to buy a package?
No – they can purchase any number of digital or print images in sizes 5x7, 6x8, and 8x10.
  • Can parents contact you directly?
Yes! However, data-sensitive queries must go through the school.
  • Can we order images in both black & white and colour?
Yes! Galleries include a mix of both. I can’t convert images post-shoot.
  • Where are you based?
I’m based near Cirencester in the Cotswolds but regularly travel for shoots.
  • Do you travel for photoshoots?
Yes, I’m happy to travel across the UK. Travel outside a certain radius may incur an additional charge to cover expenses, and for longer distances, a minimum spend applies, which can be put towards your order. For international shoots, I provide a tailored quote to account for logistics and travel requirements. If a work permit is needed, I’ll ask you to arrange this.
  • Where do your shoots take place?
Sessions can be held at your home, in your garden, or at an outdoor location that’s meaningful to you - whether it’s a local park, woodland, or a favourite family spot. If you need suggestions, I can recommend beautiful locations nearby.
  • How long will our session last?
Most sessions last between 1-2 hours, but I allow plenty of time to keep things relaxed. Newborn shoots can take up to 3 hours to allow for feeding, settling, and breaks as needed.
  • Is there anything we should bring?
If your child has a favourite toy, blanket, or anything meaningful, feel free to bring it along. For outdoor shoots, it’s always worth having a spare jumper and comfortable shoes.
  • What if it rains?
If the weather is unpredictable, we can either embrace it with wellies and umbrellas or reschedule for a better day.
  • What if my child is unwell?
Give me a call - I’ll completely understand. As a mum of three, I know how quickly things can change from feeling fine to being under the weather. Over the years, I’ve had clients reschedule for all sorts of reasons - from a last-minute sty in the eye to a tumble in the sandpit or even an unexpected sibling scuffle resulting in a black eye! Of course, I’d prefer not to cancel last minute, but your photos should feel like you at your best. If someone isn’t feeling great, it will show in the images, and I want you to love them - not wish you’d postponed. So if in doubt, just ring me.
  • What should we wear?
This is really up to you. All I ask is that everyone avoids logos, busy patterns and bright colours if at all possible. Logos etc can we very eye catching when looking at the image afterwards so plain is best. Please remember that you want to feel happy and confident in what you and your kids are wearing.
  • How many photographs do you take?
Lots! But you will have approximately 40 or so to choose from on your private gallery about 2 weeks after the shoot date.
  • Can we include hobbies like horse riding?
Absolutely! If an activity is a big part of your life, let’s capture it.
  • Can we include pets?
Yes, pets are always welcome in your shoot - they’re part of the family too!
  • What happens if my children don’t behave very well at the shoot!?
Children are children and whilst we do our best as parents they can be little rotters on occasions. DO NOT WORRY about this. My shoots are outside so they can run around and left off steam and if anyone has a meltdown we can just take some out to let them calm down. If you wish to bribe them with any treats afterwards then great ;) but I leave that up to parents. If there are any particular needs or issues I should know about then please do tell me in advance. The more I am aware of then the more I can try and make it a smooth and relaxed experience.
